1. Who we are
Locum.my is operated as a sole proprietorship in Malaysia. In these terms, "we", "us" and "Locum.my" refer to that operator, and "you" refers to the registered doctor, allied health practitioner or clinic using the service. Where a section is about sessions requested by members of the public, "client" means the person who made the request.
You can reach us at admin@locum.my about anything in this document.
2. What Locum.my is, and what it is not
Locum.my is an introduction platform. It lets clinics publish locum shifts and lets registered practitioners find and accept them, and it keeps a record of what was agreed and what was worked.
We are not your employer, and we are not an employment agency. We are not a party to the engagement between a clinic and a practitioner. We do not set rates, we do not pay practitioners, and we do not supervise clinical work.
Any professional, contractual or tax obligation arising from a shift sits between the clinic and the practitioner who worked it.
3. Who may register
To register as a doctor you must hold current registration with the Malaysian Medical Council and a valid Annual Practising Certificate.
To register as an allied health practitioner you must hold current registration with the regulator for your profession — Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia, the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council or Lembaga Jururawat Malaysia — and a valid practising certificate from that regulator.
To register as a clinic you must hold a current licence or registration for the facility from the relevant Malaysian authority, and the person registering must be authorised to act for that facility.
One account per person or facility. Do not register on behalf of someone else, and do not share your sign-in credentials.
4. Verification
Every account is reviewed before it can be used. We check the credentials you supply against the documents you upload, and we may ask for more.
We may refuse verification, or withdraw it later, at our discretion — for example where a document cannot be confirmed, has expired, or does not match the account. Verification by us is a check on the documents you gave us. It is not a professional endorsement and it does not replace a clinic's own duty to satisfy itself about who it engages.
5. Keeping your details accurate
You are responsible for the accuracy of everything on your account, including your name, registration number, licence number, practising certificate expiry date and bank details.
These values are printed onto regulatory records — the LHDN tax ledger and the KKM Buku Daftar — so an out-of-date entry becomes an inaccurate statutory record. Update your profile as soon as anything changes.
6. Shifts, attendance and payment
A clinic publishes a shift with its times and rate. When a practitioner accepts it, the agreement is between those two parties. Locum.my records it.
Clocking in checks your device's position, and is only accepted within a short distance of the clinic. The check confirms you are there; the position itself is not recorded. The times recorded at clock-in and clock-out are what the attendance and pay figures are calculated from.
Payment is settled directly between the clinic and the practitioner. Locum.my does not hold, transfer or guarantee any payment, and is not responsible for a payment that is late, short or never made.
7. Sessions with members of the public
An allied health practitioner may publish available sessions on a public profile. A member of the public may request one without an account. The practitioner accepts or declines each request, and the session, its fee and how it is paid are agreed directly between the practitioner and the client.
Locum.my introduces the two parties and records the request. We are not a party to the session. We do not provide, supervise or guarantee any clinical or professional service, and we do not hold or transfer any payment.
The practitioner is solely responsible for the service they provide — for its quality, for their conduct, for complying with their regulator's rules and the law, for holding any insurance their profession requires, and for any harm or loss that arises from the session. A practitioner who breaches these responsibilities, or whose conduct is the subject of a credible complaint, may have their profile hidden and their account suspended or closed under section 10.
We may contact a client once, after a requested session, to ask whether it took place and how it went. That contact is a check on practitioners, not marketing; the Privacy Notice describes it.
A receipt or statement generated by the service is produced from what the practitioner entered and is issued by the practitioner, not by us.
8. Regulatory records
The service generates two documents from the data on your account: an annual tax ledger for practitioners, and a KKM Buku Daftar entry for clinics.
These are produced from what you and the other party entered. We do not verify them against any external register, and you remain responsible for what you file or retain.
9. Acceptable use
Do not post shifts you do not intend to honour, accept shifts you cannot work, misrepresent your credentials, or use another person's account.
Do not use contact details obtained through the service for anything other than arranging the shift they relate to.
Do not attempt to access accounts, records or data that are not yours, or interfere with the operation of the service.
10. Suspension and closure
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we believe carries inaccurate credentials, that is the subject of a credible complaint about a session under section 7, or where we are required to by law.
You may stop using the service at any time and ask us to close your account. Some records must be retained after closure — see the Privacy Notice for how long, and why.
11. Availability and liability
The service is provided as it stands. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw features.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from an engagement or session you entered through the service, from the service a practitioner provided or failed to provide, from a payment between you and another party, or from your reliance on data another user entered.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Malaysian law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and material changes will be notified to the email address on your account.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the Malaysian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
